Kundapur: Forest department officials arrest three for killing turtles

Kundapur, Dec 4: Forest department officials conducted raid and took into custody three accused for killing turtles in a lake. The officials have also confiscated the turtles.

The incident took place at Kali, Aloor village at late night on December 2.

The three accused are Kollur resident Sheena Koraga (38), Chandra Koraga (38) and Ganesh Kalyanigudde. Turtles are protected animals under schedule 1 division 2.

A case was registered against the accused and they were produced in the court. Zonal forest officer Raghavendra Ganapathi Naik provided guidance for the operation. Assistant zonal forest officer Dayanand, Siddeshwar Kumbara, Devi Prasad, forest guards Vivek, Idoor Kallabetu and guard camp staff took part in the raid.

    It's completely nonsense. When people kill ladies, other humans, they are easily let-off by giving reason they are minors. But when one kills animals, big arrest takes place. Shame on law. R.I.P Humanity
