Mangalore: Unusually Heavy Rain in Twin-districts, More Rain predicted

Mangalore, Sep 2: Kurugod and Aland in the state recorded highest rain fall of 12 and 11 cms respectively, during the last 24 hours. Mulky in Dakshina Kannada district received ten cms of rain.
Udupi, Kota and Kundapur in Udupi district and the city got seven cms of rain. Karkala and Bajpe recorded five cms of rain each, while Dharmastala got four cms. The meteorological department has predicted rainfall to continue in the next 48 hours.
Compared to the last year, the total rains received so far in the coastal districts have been marginally higher, even though it lags behind as far as the average rainfall received in previous years is concerned. No reports of any heavy losses were reported from the two districts.
