Kaup, Dec 2: Padubidri police have registered a case on November 29 as per court order, on the basis of a complaint filed by a local businessman, Dhanapal Shetty (53), who has alleged that he has received threat to his life.
Dhanapal Shetty (53), son of the late M Narayana Shetty, residing near Mahalingeshwara temple, Kelagine Pete, Padubidri, has named the accused as Vicky Shetty, who is said to be an underground element, and Patla Sathish Shetty, son of Mahabala Shetty, residing at Thare Thota, Mangaluru.

Dhanapal Shetty has said in his complaint that his neighbour and friend, Ganapathi Kamath, had received a call at around 4 pm on November 15 on his mobile phone. "The caller introduced himself as Vicky Shetty, elder brother of Patla Sathish Shetty, an underworld don. The caller told Kamath that I have been extending unequivocal support to Kalladi Deviprasad Shetty, who is the convener of Kateel Yakshagana Melas. He also asked Kamath to tell me that he would kill me within a few days," he explained.
Dhanapal Shetty expressed the suspicion in his complaint that Vicky Shetty had made this call at the instance of Patla Sathish shetty.
The police stated that the complaint was received on November 25 and registered as a case as per the order of the court on November 29 under sections 34 and 506(2) of Indian Penal Code.
