Bengaluru, Nov 29: Four persons who were arrested in connection with a honey trap involving a politician had planned to rob their victim of ten crore rupees, it has been revealed. The other information is that the person concerned is a former minister and current MLA belonging to the BJP.

Raghavendra from Parappana Agrahara, who was earlier working for a mobile company, and three others are the ones who have been arrested by the city crime branch police. The police said that he had given up his job and was not doing any job.

Raghavendra, with the help of his friend, a lady, had recorded video of the former minister in her company secretly and then blackmailed the politician into paying ten crore rupees failing which he had threatened to upload the video in social websites.

For the success of his plan, he had followed the former minister for about a year and finally succeeded in trapping him. It is said that he also threatened to hand over the video to private TV news channels in a bid to extract huge amount. Frustrated by the ways of Raghavendra, the MLA complained to the police, on the basis of which the police had made efforts to arrest Raghavendra, who had absconded after getting information that police were hunting for him, and succeeded.

Reportedly, Raghavendra had adopted honey trap as a permanent profession. He had succeeded in trapping five legislators through a similar plan, and then succeeded in collecting money. During his interrogation, the police have also come to know that big industrialists and businessmen were among the people trapped by him through his plan.

The four people including Raghavendra, his lady friend, and two others, who have been arrested, are being questioned.
