Mumbai, Aug 28: ‘Krishnam Vande’, the maiden audio CD brought out by Vidushi Shyamala Prakash, was released at a function held at Dr Vishweshwarayya Auditorium of Karnataka Sangh, here on Wednesday August 26 evening.

Internationally acclaimed Sitarist Padmabushan Abdul Halim Jaffer Khan released the CD on the occasion.

Maharashtra culture department director Ajay Ambekar presided over the programme.

Speaking on this occasion, Ajay expressed the opinion that normally, the organizations can survive for long in the metro, if they limit themselves to a regional language.  However, Karnataka Sangh has developed cordial relationship with one and all. This has been amply proven by the fact that it has organized the release of ‘Krishnam Vande’ CD.  Meanwhile, art should give joy, and the art that fails to deliver joy, fails to sustain, since both are co-related.  Krishnam Vade CD has all such qualities, Ajay said.

Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangh convener and CD producer Manohar Tonse, Y Muralikrishna, Vidushi Shyamala Prakash, Karnataka Sangh president Manohar M Kori and honorary treasurer B G Nayak, were the guests of honour.

Padmabushan Abdul Halim Jaffer said that Kala Bharati unit of Karnataka Sangh has been organizing programmes of much importance, and felt that the release of Vidushi Shyamala’s CD, ‘Krishnam Vande’, would definitely win over the hearts of the music lovers, since it’s gives wonderful experience, as rhythm, ideal voice and quality of singing have manifested together in this CD.

Manohar Tonse said that the psalms of contemporary Psalmists Purandardasa and others, rendered by Vidushi Shyamala, would certainly touch the hearts of millions of people, as the songs have been composed by Shyamala in simple style and focussed on Lord Krishna.

Karnataka Sangh president Manohar Kori, in his presidential address, said that the Sangh has always been supporting music and musical programmes, and that the music lovers have contributed for the success of such endeavours.

Vidushi Shyamala observed that a musician ought to practice with determination, and need to have refinement, if his performance is to be of high quality. At the same time, those who facilitate the musicians to perform and provide them with an opportunity, are also equally important for a musician.  “Karnataka Sangh has given me such an opportunity,” she explained.
Karnataka Sangh honorary secretary Omdas Kannangar introduced the guests and proposed vote of thanks.  Vice president Bharat Kumar Polipu compered the programme.

A Carnatic classical music concert was presented by Vidushi Shyamala Prakash on this occasion, as part of the cultural programme, after the release function.
