Mumbai, Aug 26: Metro-based Karnataka Sangh will be organizing a programme of releasing an audio CD titled ‘Krishnam Vande’, at 6.30 pm on Wednesday August 26, at its Vishweshwarayya auditorium, Matunga (West), here.

The CD titled ‘Krishnam Vande', comprises of devotional songs in praise of Lord Krishna, written centuries ago by Karnataka’s well known psalmists, Purandara Dasa, Kanaka Dasa and others. These songs have been sung by metro’s Vidushi Shyamala Prakash, and the music has been composed by herself.

Internationally acclaimed sitarist, 'Padmabhushan' awardee, Ustad Abdul Halim Jaffar Khan, will be gracing the occasion as the chief guest of the function. He will also release the CD.

Maharashtra government director of cultural affairs, Ajay Ambekar, will preside over the function. 

Abu Dhabi Karnataka Sangh coordinator Manohar Tonse will be the guest of honour.

Shyamala Prakash will be presenting a vocal performance of Carnatic classical music, after the release of the CD.

Shymala Prakash is a promising Carnatic music vocalist based in the metro, who has already presented several concerts successfully in Mumbai, Bangalore and Udupi. ‘Krishnam Vande’ is her first CD, to be released in the market. Manohar Tonse of Abu Dhabi is the producer of this maiden CD, a press release of the organization stated.
