Kochi, Aug 25: Stock 84, one of the leading brandy brands in Europe, will be launched in Kerala during this Onam season that starts Wednesday.
City-based Devicolam Distilleries Ltd Monday signed an agreement with Stock Spirits International that owns the brand to produce and market Stock 84 in India.
Stock Spirits officials said the brandy would be launched in the Kerala market soon as liquor sales were expected to rise during the 10-day Onam festival.
"This is a very important start for us in India where Kerala would be the first state to stock Stock 84," said Tony Roberts, managing director of Stock Spirits.
Added Clive Wilfred, managing director of Devicolam Distilleries: "The brand being manufactured in our factory would have the same ingredients and utmost care and attention would be taken in its processing to maintain the original taste."
Stock 84 would cost Rs.975 for a full bottle in the Kerala market.
Earlier, the Kerala State Beverages Corp, the sole wholesaler of liquor and beer in the state, had said liquor sales would likely touch Rs.200 crore this Onam season.
