Mangaluru, Nov 23: This Children’s Day, the PTA of Manipal School set out to organize 'Hungama 2019'. The event was back after a hiatus of five years as part of the decennial celebrations of the school.
The excitement witnessed by the children and adults was very visible and compelled the parents and school staff to plan the programme well in advance. It was decided that Hungama 2019 would be a charity event and the proceeds of the funfair would be donated to an NGO.
The event began with a talk by Santhosh Devadas, Health Safety and Child Protection co-ordinator of the School about the mandatory safety procedures to be followed during the event. As part of the inaugural, little ones of Grade 2 performed an energetic jig.
Dr Dilip G Naik, dean, Manipal College of Dental Sciences and Academy of General Education representative addressed the students and wished them well on Children’s Day.
Arun Raj Rodrigues, president of the PTA, said he was very happy to see the active involvement of the fellow parent members.
The principal, Anuradha Shivaram declared the fair open. The children made a beeline to the stalls eager to play games and gorge on their favourite food.
The food stalls had delightful snacks, puddings, ice creams, cakes, pies and many more homemade goodies. The other attractions were the game stalls, boot camp, scary house, magic show, the bouncy castle, the greenhouse, craft corner, mehndi, nail art, face painting, karaoke and the dance floor. The kids had a fun-filled morning and trooped back home pleasantly tired.
This is what visitors to the fair had to say.
“Wonderful event conducted PTA. Kids and their families had fun. Superb food stalls, Karaoke, magic show.... Well done.”
“Congratulations to you all for successfully organizing the funfair. It was well planned and very well executed. Thank you for putting up this wonderful event.
