Mangaluru: Sports Day held at St Agnes CBSE School

Mangaluru, Nov 23: St Agnes CBSE School, Mangaluru organised its Annual Sports Day 2019-20, on Friday, November 22, on the college grounds.

The chief guest was Brian Fernandes Director and CEO Spearhead Media Pvt Ltd, guest of honour was Sr M Shubha, secretary, Apostolic Carmel Educational Society and Vanessa D’souza architect and international chess player.



The inaugural programme began at 9:00 am with a ceremonious welcome of the dignitaries through the school band. The official programme included the march past competition, opening ceremony of the meet, lighting of the torch and oath taking. The spectators witnessed a wonderful drill display put together by Std I to IV.

The ground was overflowing with zeal, passion and excitement as the afternoon programme had customized and fun-filled track and field events. The chief guest was the principal of St. Agnes College, Dr Sr M Jeswina, joint secretary of St. Agnes Institutions Dr Sr Maria Roopa and vice president of SWC Jane Saldanha.

The much awaited prize distribution was to commemorate victories in march past, band display, field and track events, individual championship, group championship and honouring SSLC toppers of 2019.

The winners of the march past competition is as follows:

Category 1 (IX-X): First Place – XA, Second Place – IX C, Third Place – XB

Category 2 (VII-VIII) : First Place – VIIIA, Second Place – VIIIC, Third Place – VIIA, Consolation 1 – VII B, Consolation 2 – VIII B

Category 3 (V-VI) : First Place – VC, Second Place – VI B, Third Place – VI C, Consolation 1 – VI A, Consolation 2 – VI D

The day ended on a cheerful note as it came with promises for all young sports enthusiasts.
