New Delhi, Aug 24: Sports Minister M S Gill on Monday said that every possible effort is being made to ensure that venues of 2010 Commonwealth Games are ready on time for the multi-disciplinary competition.
Gill inespected the work at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, Dr. Shyma Prasad Mukherjee Aquatics Complex and Talkatora Indoor Stadium. The three venues will host hockey, swimming and boxing events respectively.
"Every human effort is being made to deliver the sporting facilities well before time," Gill said.
Gill had a comprehensive review of the construction progress of the three venues with the officials of the CPWD, the Sports Authority of India, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and representatives of the Organising Committee.
Gill said the swimming complex will be ready to hold the test event in April.
About the Talkatora Indoor Stadium, the NDMC officials briefed the minister and said it would be completed by Nov 1.
Gill was also impressed with the progress of work at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium.
