Bantwal, Nov 18: Report about finding the body of a man from River Netravati near Talapady in the taluk has been received. It was found on Sunday, November 17.

The mortal remains now found pertained to Anil Acharya (37) from Chikkamagaluru.

The body was found during dredging operation that is in progress in River Netravati near Talapady some distance away from Thumbe dam. The workers operating the dredging machine reportedly found the body floating in water near the machine.

After the information was conveyed to the police here, they undertook probe. Local divers helped in bringing the body out of the river. It could not immediately be ascertained whether this is a case of suicide or accidental death.
