Udupi, Nov 16: Samata Sainika Dala (R), in the district conducted a press meet on November 16 here, stating that Krishna from Irody gram panchayat was cheated and his signature was misused by Thomas Rodrigues promising that he would provide him a government job through his influence.
Vishwanath Petri, district president of Samata Sainika Dala (R) said that Krishna, a SC who was temporarily working as a pump operator was cheated by Thomas Rodrigues and Dennis D'Souza. It is said that Thomas and Dennis cheated Krishna by promising him that they would provide him a government job and he would be a government appointed pump operator. It is also reported that the sand permit was sanctioned in the name of Krishna. Dennis and Thomas cheated Krishna and many SCs by taking their signature and getting sand permit. When Krishna enquired about this, he was physically assaulted by Dennis and Thomas. A complaint was filed against this at Kota police station.
Dalit organizations have been protesting against this for three years and have also given written complaints to respective officers, but no investigation has taken place and Krishna was physically assaulted said Vishwanath Petri.
Dennis and Thomas are earning lacs of rupees with the permit which was sanctioned in the name of Krishna and are cheating Krishna as well as the government. Margaret Rodrigues, Suma and Deekshith are said to be accompanying Thomas and Dennis and earning profit. A special investigation team has to be formed to solve this problem and justice must be provided to Krishna said Vishwanath Petri. Vishwanath also expressed that there might be some officials involved in this scam and hence a special investigation team has to be formed.
Sudhakar Soorgoli, district secretary, Prakash Heroor, presidet of Jai Bheem, Jyothi Shiriyar, district president of SSD female wing, Srinivas Naadoor, district general secretary of SSD, Manjunath Madhuvan, district treasurer and Vignesh Brahmavar, district secretary of Bhim Army were present at the press meet.
