Bengaluru, Nov 16: Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa’s Political Secretary S R Vishwanath has promised to take up the problems faced by builders on account of large number of unsold apartments due to economic slowdown, demonetization and other issues with the State Government.
Addressing a meeting of the Bangalore Branch of Builders Association India at their Builders Day at a function held at Builders NGV Club in Bengaluru on Friday, he promised to arrange a meeting of the prominent builders and association office-bearers with the Chief Minister to find out a solution to their problems.
He also presented Sir M Visvesvaraya awards to senior members of all the sectors of the Building industryand Artisans Day to honourlabours from the construction industry.
Vishwanath said after demonetisation, the builders have found it difficult to sell their apartments. The economic slowdown has further aggravated the pronlems.
The most affected are the medium-sized builders, he said and promised to request the Chief Minister to convene a meeting to discuss the problems relating to the builders and the office-bearers of the Builders Association of India will be invited for the same.
Vishwanath said the Chief Minister has announced a number of infrastructures works to enhance the civic amenities in the City. The builders will be involved in implementing the executing of these works, he added.
The Chairman of the Bangalore Branch of Builders Association of India, S Shivaprakash, said every year a senior builder is presented the Sir M Visvesvaraya award besides recognition to the employees of the various sectors of the building industry.
Various sports events were also organised for the employees of various companies. Prizes were distributed by the Labour Commissioner K G Shantaram.
The Sir M Visvesvaraya award was presented to senior builder K Appi Reddy. Senior builders K MuniswamyRaju, K Basavana Goud and N Kupendra were felicitated.
Builders Association of India, Karnataka Bangalore Centre Vice Chairman B M Nataraj, Secretary V L Muniraj, Joint Secretry Abdul Sattar, Treasurer K Manoj and others participated in the function.
