Udupi, Aug 20: “Photography is an art by itself, which has come a long way since its invention in 1839 up to the recent digital revolution”, said K S Raju, director, Sagar Photography Club.
Raju was speaking at the inaugural of ‘World Photography Day’ at the Hotel Kediyoor Mahajan auditorium here on Wednesday August 19. It was organized by Udupi Press Photographers’ Association (UPPA).
“Both the inventors of early camera and the newest digital camera are equally important as they have made significant contributions to mankind in capturing pictures for posterity”, said Raju.
Meanwhile, Raju advised photojournalists to develop the human side of every shot when clicking pictures.
Ratnakar Udupi, editor, ‘Chayachandana’ monthly journal, inaugurated the photo exhibition.
The programme was presided over by UPPA president Hemanath Padubidri. RTO H N Ramesh was also present.
UPPA secretary Janardhan Kodavoor welcomed the gathering. Vice-president Jayaprakash Kini proposed the vote of thanks while Astro Mohan compered the programme.
