Mangaluru, Nov 14: “It is time to turn from education to innovation. This is possible with inter-disciplinary research," said Dr Arun Mohan Isloor Professor and head, department of Chemistry, NITK, Surathkal, here.

Dr Isloor addressed delegates at an inaugural function and lit a lamp at the national seminar on Research Methodology and Biostatistics organized by Srinivas College of Pharmacy Mangaluru in association with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru and Indian Pharmaceutical Association, DK District Local Branch, Mangaluru on November 12. He also delivered a gave a talk on 'Research Publication skills'.

Dr A R Shabaraya, principal and director, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and president, IPA, DK District local branch in his presidential remarks called upon the young researchers to develop the three Cs - Competency, commitment and communication to face the challenges in research.

Dr Ashok Shenoy, professor, department of Pharmacology, Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru exhorted the young researchers to apply more stress on research in the field of patient care and gave a talk on 'Ethics in Medical Research'.

Dr Praveen B M, professor, chief coordinator, Research and Innovation Council of Srinivas University, Mangaluru presented a talk on 'Research grants and their execution'.

Dr E V S Subrahmanyam, professor, Srinivas College of Pharmacy and vice-president, IPA, DK District local branch, welcomed and introduced the guests.

Rash Haleema and Rashmitha anchored the programme.

Dr Krishnananda Kamath K, associate professor proposed the vote of thanks. 200 delegates from Pharmacy colleges of Karnataka and Kerala attended the programme.
