Udupi, Nov 12: ‘Beach Swacchata Abhiyan’, beach cleanliness programme was inaugurated by central minister D V Sadananda Gowda at Padukere Beach on November 12. The programme was also held at Malpe beach.
Narendra Modi led BJP government is having beach cleanliness programme throughout the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started beach cleanliness in Chennai and minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Shobha Karandlaje and MLA Raghupati Bhat are following his paths and cleaned the beach at Padukere on November 12.
Shobha Karandlaje, MP from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency said, “Cleanliness is given utmost importance under the BJP government led by PM Narendra Modi. Our PM is known for his Swacch Bharat Abhiyan. Now his move towards cleaning the beach is really appreciable and is to be followed by each and every one.
“Cleanliness is not meant to be only for today but will be continued in the coming days. Coming to Padukere beach was very difficult before. But after the construction of the bridge, tourists and people can easily come and enjoy the beauty of this beach.
“It will be seen that Rs eight crore sanctioned by the government for Blue flag project in Padubidri will be extended up to Padukere so that even Padukere beach gets developed and becomes a tourist spot. The ports will be completely under the government and will be seen that no private authority has acquisition over it,” she said.
