Sullia, Nov 12: State minister for primary and secondary education, Suresh Kumar, visited Lord Subrahmanya temple on the occasion of his birthday on Monday, November 11. He came to the temple accompanied by wife and offered special puja. Priest of the temple, Rajesh, draped a shawl around the minister, handed over Prasadam and offered prayers on behalf of the minister.
On his arrival, Suresh Kumar took rest for some time at Adishesha guest house before visiting the temple. He took part for some time in the religious programmes going on in front of the tower in connection with the dedication of the new chariot to the temple and had a look at the new chariot (Brahmaratha). He even visited Narasimha shrine and Hosaligamma shrine where Prasadam was offered to him. He partook afternoon food at the temple.
Kumar said he was on a private visit and hence refused to speak to media representatives. He was not accompanied by any security escort. Even the local police were not aware of his visit. For Kumar, this was the first visit to Subrahmanya after becoming a minister.
Former member of temple managing committee, Subrahmanya Bhat Manadu, local leader, Srikumar Biladwara, temple protocol officer, Gopinath Nambeesh, superintendent, Balasubrahmanya Bhat, chariot donor, Ajit Shetty, Kadaba etc were present.
