Ramanagara, Nov 11: In a rapid operation, central crime branch police raided a house in Aijoor extension in the town on Sunday November 10 and took into custody eight persons including two women. It is said that these people were illegally residing in the town.
700 grams gold bar, dagger, long, and foreign currency notes were found in their possession. They did not have any authorized identity card, documents etc and therefore they are suspected to be citizens of Bangladesh.
The accused had rented a house behind Aijoor extension here three days back. The house owner had not collected any documents to confirm their names and permanent addresses. Therefore, owner of the house and an auto rickshaw driver on whose recommendation the house was let out, were questioned at Aijoor police station.
Ramanagara district superintendent of police, Anoop A Shetty, said that the operation was conducted by a central crime branch team led by inspector, Arun, relating to a case registered in Amrithahalli police station. He said that the truth will come out only after all the documents are scrutinized.
