Udupi, Nov 5: Shri Janardan and Mahakali temple, Ambalpady organized Taluk level Bhajana workshop 'Bhajana Sambhrama' at Bhavani mantapa, Ambalpady here on Sunday, November 3.
The programme was organized in association with Grama Vikasa Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Bhajana Parishad Udupi taluk, Sri Mahamaya Bhajana Mandali, Ishwaranagara Manipal and Sri Vitobha Bhajana Mandira Ambalpady.
The Bhajana workshop was inaugurated by Dr Vijay Ballal, trustee of Sri Janardan and Mahakali temple by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the devotees gathered Dr Ballal said, “There is emotion in bhajan. Blowing Shankha (Conch) and sound of Jagate is good for the brain. We should recite Shloka in the early morning. If we do this, we will feel fresh the whole day. That gives positive vibes to our body and mind. Parents should teach and cultivate this culture in their children. Parents should teach Bhajans and Shlokas. It gives sound health, life, good sleep and peace to mind.
“If emotions are good, it keeps the heart healthy. People should understand these facts. Today's children are smart and intelligent. They are expecting logical answer to their questions. Let us teach them by giving scientific background. Only then they will be ready to accept it,” he said.
Gopal C Bangera, president, Sri Vitoba bhajana mandira, Ambalpady presided over the programme. Radha Ganesh B, director, Sri Dharmasthala Gramabhivruddhi project was the chief guest of the programme.
Sudhir Hebri, divisional harmony co-convener, NSS, Jayanth Padukere, assistant coordinator, Bhajana sambhrama Puttur, Shankardas Chendkala, folk artiste, district Rajyotsava awardee, Balakrishna Pethri, taluk president, Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara bhajana parishath, Padmaratnakar, president, Mathru mandali, Kadiyali, Prakash Kulal, secretary, Sri Manjunatheshwar Bhajana, Udupi taluk, Krishna Kotian, general secretary, Sri Vitobha Bhajana mandira Ambalpady, Maya Kamat, president, Sri Mahamaya Bhajana mandali, Ishwarnagar, Jayakar Poojary Gulvady and Srikanth Prabhu Palli, committee members, Bhajana Sambhrama Puttur and others were present.
Shivakumar Ambalpady, convener welcomed the gathering. M S Giridhar compered the programme. More than 200 people including children participated in the Bhajana Sambhrama.
