Mangaluru: Kannada Rajyotsava celebrated at Lourdes School

Mangaluru, Nov 1: “We are proud to recall the glorious history of our state during celebrations of Karnataka Rajyotsava. The state has the grandeur of leaving its own stamp in India’s literature and obtaining maximum number of Jnyana Peeta awards. The citizens of the state are broad-minded, intelligent and bold. Therefore, they have provided their contribution in revolution, co-existence and uplift. They have always shown peace and harmony in their way of life. May the beauty, glory and aroma of Kannada of such a state spread to all the eight directions. May our Karnataka of courageous warriors and litterateurs always remain lively,” said Lourdes Central school manager, Fr Wilson L Vitus D’Souza.

Fr Wilson L Vitus D’Souza presided over the 64th Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations held at Lourdes Central School.



Principal, Fr Robert D’Souza hoisted the tricolor flag along with the convener and presented an introduction. “Every Kannadiga has the responsibility of repaying the debt after having been born in Kannada land. We should be bound to preserve its unique language, land and water. The language should be spoken and nourished,” he said encouraging the students.

Shreya Arabi spoke on behalf of the students on the importance of Rajyotsava and our responsibility. Ria Lobo, Shriya P Poojary and Saptha Pavoor presented mono acts. Neevan Shetty, Dhruva and Anuksha Bharathraj presented poetic songs. Janapada dance of students was attractive. The students sang the state anthem together and honored mother Bhuvaneshwari.

Student Sunidhi Hegde compered the programme. Ashna Ferrao rendered the vote of thanks. Vice-president Belita Mascarenhas was on the dais. Kannada language department’s Rathnaker S Acharya conducted the programme. Teachers Noilin Pais, Rekha Naveen, Deepika, Asha Rita and Apoorvashree cooperated in the programme.
