Mangaluru: Saniya Jeslyn d Souza qualifies for national swim meet

Mangaluru, Oct 23: Saniya Jeslyn d Souza studying at Ladyhill high school, Urwa in class 9 qualified for National swimming meet which will be held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee swimming complex, Tal katora, Delhi from November 16 to 22.

In state level SGFI swimming competition which was held earlier at Basavanaguddi, Bengaluru, Saniya bagged two gold and one silver medal.

Her previous achievements in South Zone aquatic championship at Chennai in 2018, Saniya secured third place in 50 mts backstroke. She participated in SGFI swimming competition and secured 4th place in 50 mts butterfly. She also secured second place in 50 mts backstroke and third place in 50 mts butterfly in second place in All India inter club championship.

Sathish d Souza and Stella d Souza  are the proud parents of Saniya residing at kodikal, Ashoknagar.

She is practicing in Jai Hind Swimming Club Mangaluru under the guidance of senior coaches Ramakrishna Rao, Sanketh Bengre, and Rajesh.

Saniya's ambition is to qualify for Khelo India 2019 which will be held at Bhopal at a later date.
