Mumbai, Aug 2:
The metro-based Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited and the R S Co-operative Bank bagged the ‘Top Bank’ awards from the Metropolitan Co-operative Banks Association for the year 2007-08. 

The awards were presented at a function held at Hotel Kohinoor, Prabhadevi, Dadar (West), recently. 
 
The function was presided over by Association president Nagesh K Povkar.



 
Veteran banker Gulab Rao Shedke and Association vice-president Pratibha D Patil, convener Kishore V Ranganekar, and Shantilal M Chavan were present on the occasion.
 
Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited also bagged the second ‘Customers Excellence Award’ for crossing working capital of Rs 1,000 crore. 

Bharat Bank working president Vasudev R Kotian, former working and current director Jaya C Suvarna, and chief general manager J C Poojary, accepted the award along with Bank director Pushpalata N Salian and assistant general manager Nityanand D Kotian. 
 
R S Co-operative Bank bagged the ‘Top Bank’ award for the eighth consecutive time. R S Co-operative Bank workig president Sadanand D Nayak accepted the award along with deputy working president Umesh S Bhat, chief executive officer Shashikant L Abhang, directors Vittal D Nayak, Raghavendra S Nayak, and Nityanand B Naik.
 
The North Canara GSB Co-operative Bank Limited bagged the third award in the segment which was accepted by Bank chairman Nagesh K Povkar.
