Bangalore, Jul 26: Somashekara Reddy’s ascension to the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) might have been smooth, bit it is all likely that Reddy may not be retained in the coveted post for long.
It is learnt that according to the formula worked out in the BJP, D V Sadananda Gowda, whose second stint as the state president of the BJP ends in November, is all likely to take over as the chairman of KMF. However, Reddy is confident of completing the term and refuted the reports as rumour.
Further, BJP wanted to field former MLA Araga Jnanendra to KMF. However, intense lobbying by Reddy brothers prompted Somashekar’s name to be touted as a contestant for the post.
It can be recalled here that Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had favoured State BJP president D V Sadananda Gowda for the chairman’s post, which the Reddy brothers learnt to have flatly refused it and threatened to contest as rebels. Subsequently, CM had to yield to their request.
