Tumakuru: Man marries minor in his second marriage within one year

Tumakuru, Oct 3: A person named Manjunath from Nagalapura village in the district had married Pallavi from Doddahalli village near Y N Hoskote in Pavagada taluk on December 27, 2019. Allegedly, he entered into his second marriage with a minor girl from the same village on September 22, 2019. Pallavi filed a complaint in Y N Hoskote police station relating the illegal second alliance of her husband.

She said in her complaint that her husband was with her for only six months. As he used to beat her up and met out mental and physical torture, her parents took her away to her parental home. Making use of this opportunity, her husband, Manjunath, married a minor girl from Nagalapura, who is studying in Tumakuru, she alleged. Now, Pallavi seeks justice.

The police found that Manjunath went missing after the above complaint was made. Based on the said complaint, the police have registered the case under sections 498,323, 504 and 506 of Indian Penal Code against Manjunath. They have been trying to nab Manjunath.
