Dubai, Oct 1: An Indian national, who is working as an accountant in Dubai won US $1 million in Dubai Duty Free raffle on Tuesday, October 1.
The lucky millionaire is identified as Praveen Aranha, who held ticket number 3069 in series 312.
Aranha has been residing in Dubai for the past 16 years. He is a management accountant at the Atlantis in Palm, Jumeirah. He is bascially from Bendorewell in Mangaluru. His family moved to Mumbai in 1974 and settled there.
Aranha, who is ecstatic over his win, said that he purchased the ticket by dividing the cost with his two colleagues. One of them is an Indian and another Egyptian. Hence, he will share the prize money accordingly with them.
When questioned on what he plans to do with his share of prize money, Aranha said he will save it for his daughter’s education who is currently studying Business Administration in Dubai.
Aranha is the 151st Indian national to have won $1 million since its inception in 1999. “You should always expect the unexpected,” he told media.
