Mangaluru, Sep 28: St Anthony’s Ashram, Jeppu and ‘Yuvamitra’ in the city, jointly on Saturday September 28, organized half a day's guidance seminar for unemployed youth at St Anthony’s Ashram Jeppu, here.
Fronil D’Souza, director of the ashram in his message said that it is sad to note that so many youth after completing their studies are not employed. For their livelihood they have to still depend on their parents or their well-wishers, but it is heartening to see that large number of youth have responded to the call and are participating in the seminar. He mentioned the examples of few individuals who have jumped out of the box of their training and have become successful stories and today they provide employment to others. Further he called on the assembled youth to grab whatever opportunity comes their way and start earning until the job of desire realizes the dream.
Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank was chief guest of the day. In his message he encouraged the youth to capitalize on the qualities of honesty and hard work. These good qualities add value to qualification. He extended his full support and co-operation in fulfilling the dreams of youth who are aspiring to get employed.
Sailor, Leslie Crasta, sea-diver turned into a successful entrepreneur. Gratian Pais, Vincent D’Souza, IDBI branch manager Udupi, Santhosh Crasta were the resource persons. A hundred and fifty youth above 18 years from near and far participated in the seminar.
Fr Thrishan D’Souza, asst director of the ashram invoked God’s blessings on the seminar. Stanley D’Cunha, proprietor of Anvita Photography- Ancita Videography and the co-coordinator of Mangalore Mitra welcomed the guests. John D’Souza compered the programme.
