Mangaluru: Engineering students urge relaxation of subject carry over restrictions

Mangaluru, Sep 25: Engineering student leaders under VTU submitted a letter to the minister of higher education, Ashwath Narayan through the district in-charge minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary over the difficulties faced by them on restrictions on carry over system.

They urged to change the rule that a student is ineligible to go to the fourth year if any of the subjects of the first year are not cleared by the student, as the student loses a year otherwise.

Student leaders, Akshay Alva, Charan Raj, Sakshat Shetty, Swasthik Alva, Jeevan Rai, Pratwik, Keertan Das, Deekshith Kulal and Ronak submitted the request.

    I read today VTU has announced that if a student does not score minimum 5.0 CGPA they will not be issued degree certificate. Now what these students will do. It is better they study well and complete their course diligently rather than asking for carryover system and complaining to minister
