Kundapur: Anganwadis should develop culture, values in children - Byndoor MLA

Kundapur, Sep 24: “Anganwadis should be centres that develop culture, values and good character of children. The central and state governments are developing Anganwadi centres and own buildings are being constructed for Anganwadis at all the places,” said Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty.

He was speaking after inaugurating newly constructed Anganwadi center in Melgangolli government junior primary school premises in the joint cooperation of Udupi zilla panchayat, women and child development department Udupi, infant development scheme and Gangolli gram panchayat on Monday.



“The state government has approved more than Rs 200 crore under various schemes for the development of Byndoor. A proposal of Rs two crore is submitted for different works in Gangolli. The government will sincerely release more funds for all round development of Gangolli,” he assured.

Gangolli gram panchayat president Srinivas Kharvi chaired the programme. Kundapur taluk panchayat president Shamala Kunder, district panchayat member Shobha G Putran, taluk panchayat members Surendra Kharvi, Narayan K Gujjaidi, Gangolli gram panchayat vice president Prema Poojary, members Shanti Kharvi, Sumitra Sherugar, PDO Chandrashekar, Dr Ambedkar Yuvaka mandala president Nagesh, gram panchayat members and others were present.

School headmaster Ramesh Mahale welcomed. In charge infant development project officer Baby gave an introduction. Anganwadi supervisor Savita Shetty compered the programme. Anganwadi activist Philomena rendered vote of thanks.
