Mumbai, Sep 22: The 14th annual awards function for the year 2019 was organized by Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) at the auditorium of Hotel Kohinoor Continental, Andheri (east) here on Saturday September 21. CCCI working president, Antony Sequeira Madanthyar, steered the function while Msgr Varghese Mattamana presided. Joint commissioner of professional taxes here, Dr David Thomas Alvares, who was the chief guest, handed over annual awards of CCCI to the winners.
Sponsors of the awards, Vincent Mathias, Albert W D'Souza, K Shindhe, Clotilda R Sequeira and Antony Sequeira were present. Out of the achievement awards of CCCI, best achiever entrepreneur award sponsored by Electropneumatics (India) Pvt Ltd was conferred on Capt Thomas W Pinto, while public service award sponsored by Daniel & Sons was given to Cmdr Valentine Sequeira. The social service award sponsored by Velvin Industries Pvt Ltd was presented to Corrine Antonette Rasquinha (White Doves Mangaluru). The woman achiever award sponsored by Patathu Brothers was given to Shirley Singh. Aldel Education Trust-sponsored young entrepreneur achiever award was given to Rohan Monteiro of Rohan Corporation Mangaluru. Best educational achievement award sponsored by Reliable Exports was presented to Bishop Percival Joseph E Fernandes while the sports - art - cultural achiever award sponsored by Arcadia Share & Stock Brokers Pvt Ltd was presented to Fr Charles Vas.
The awardees, speaking on the occasion, appreciated the services rendered by CCCI and thanked it for recognizing their contributions.
CCCI founder president, Vincent Mathias, former working president, Henry Lobo, awards committee convener, John D'Silva, deputy working presidents, Albert W D'Souza and John Mathew, directors, Justice Pius Vas, Gregory D'Souza, Lawrence Coelho, Walter Buthello, Agnello Rajesh Athaide, Lawrence D'Souza, Johnson Therattil and many members and other dignitaries were present.
At the beginning, the 21st annual general body meeting of CCCI was held. It was presided over by working president, Antony Sequeira. Executive secretary, Rohan Tellis, welcomed and proposed vote of thanks.
During the intermission, artistes of Sangeet Abhinay Academy presented cultural dance directed by Fr Charles Vas.
