Mangaluru: Indiana Hospital to observe World Heart Day with free cardiac check-up

Mangaluru, Sep 20: One of the city’s leading healthcare providers, Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute will observe World Heart Day which falls on September 29.

As part of the World Heart Day celebrations, Indiana Hospital, the first one in the city to have been empanelled under National Accreditation Board for Hospitals, will offer free cardiac health check-up for patients from September 26 to 30. The free check-up facility will be offered at OPD timings from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm.

Indiana Hospital’s chief interventional cardiologist and managing director, Dr Yusuf A Kumble, said in a statement, “40% of the world’s 2.7 crore patients with heart failure lives in India. Poor awareness about the heart’s condition and its delayed treatment have taken a toll on the population. World Heart Day is a campaign established to spread awareness about the health of the heart among common people. Indiana Hospital Mangaluru is bound to extend all its support to such a campaign. As a run up to the World Heart Day, Indiana Hospital is organizing a free heart check-up as part our corporate social responsibility. I appeal to all those who have cardiac issues to take advantage of this opportunity to maintain a healthy heart.”
