Mangalore: Two Die in Jeep-Bike Collision

Mangalore, Jul 15: In an accident that occurred around midnight on Monday July 13, two persons died after a jeep and a motor bike were involved in a head-on collision near Panambur petrol bunk on national highway 17.

A jeep that was moving on the wrong direction in the one-way lane of the national highway at Jokatte Cross Bykampady, hit a motor bike that was moving towards Kulur from Bykampady. In the accident, motor bike rider Bharat Shetty (19) from Katipalla lost his life on the spot. Pillion rider Umesh Karkera (22) from Kavoor Shantinagar, who had sustained grievous injuries, was admitted into a private hospital in the city. He breathed his last on Tuesday July 14 morning.

Panambur policemen have registered a case.

    When the Traffic Police wakeup from their deep sleep ! its a common sight you will find trucks, bus''s, etc driving on the wrong side of the road and the Police just stand and watch them their inaction is the cause of accidents and death . Why cant the Police just give them heavy fines for the offences but they encourage them so that they can collect bribes.
