Mangaluru: Session on career options conducted for St Agnes College BCom students

Mangaluru, Sep 20: A session was conducted by the department of Commerce for the final year BCom students of St Agnes College on 'How to stand out in a very competitive job market and to rediscover our career position' at A4, Avila block in the college.

Jaishree Chaugule, SQA certified and NABET accredited soft skill trainer with more than 13 years’ experience in teaching and training from ITM Group of Institute, was the guest speaker. She was accompanied by Prashant Mankar, assistant manager of Academic Relations, ITM Group of Institute, Bengaluru.

The session began with a prayer song by Jancy and group. Aysha Abdul Kader from III BCom was the MC for the session. Rasheeqa introduced the guest speaker and welcomed the gathering. Jaishree Chaugule stressed on effective communication through interpersonal skills and soft skills. She explained the various career options available currently and advised the students to pursue careers in the field of personal interest as well as touched upon parallel jobs and work-from-home options. She advised the students to develop the habit of reading newspapers and keeping themselves updated. 



A group discussion with five people was conducted. Jaishree Chaugule shared tips on preparing a resume, preparing for group discussion, confidently facing an interview.

After the session, Jaishree answered the students' queries. Stancy from III BCom proposed the vote of thanks.
