Mangaluru, Sep 18: A group of undergraduate students from various engineering disciplines of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, Mangaluru, are coming together as Team Challengers to explore and triumph in the world of Aeronautics and Robotics.
The flagship event Aerophilia 2019 will be held at Sahyadri College on September 20 and 21. It is a two-day national event which aims to encourage budding engineers and innovators. With the use of cutting edge technology in the event, Aerophilia strives to solve problems of social importance.
The primary intent behind hosting such an innovative event is to boost a healthy competitive spirit of India's youth. The event promises to be a great way to widen one's social and professional network. It will also provide the school kids with an opportunity to meet and interact with eminent personalities to gain an interest in science and technology.
This year Aerophilia 2019 is expected to host over 1,500 people. There will be an air show by national flyers, which is being considered as one of South India's biggest RC air show.
The highlight of the Aerophilia 2019 is the event called Hackathon by ISRO which has an attendance of a wide plethora of participants. This is the first-ever hackathon being conducted by ISRO to find applications for the NAVIC chip (India’s very own navigation system). The ISRO representatives will be there to provide round the clock guidance for the participants. The representatives would also give highly informative technical talks during the event.
Apart from Hackathon, there are other events taking place in Aerophilia 2019. The events are distributed over two days, Day 1 includes - Aeromodelling, Drone Race, Photography, Tug of Bots, Air-show, Treasure Hunt, CS: GO, Technical Talk, Water Rocket, Glider Workshop, Rubik's Cube.
Day 2 includes - Paper Presentation, Technical Talk, Paper Plane, Robo-Sumo, Open RC Plane Flying, Death Race.
