Bengaluru, Sep 15: "Patriots vote for BJP. Those who are pro-Pakistan will not vote for BJP. Till date, I have never folded my hands in front of a single Muslim in my constituency to vote for me," said minister K S Eshwarappa, which has created a controversy now.
The minister was speaking at a programme organized by Sri Rama Sene. He further said, "Before our government was formed, some Congress MLAs met me. They said that they want to join BJP. However, there are around 50,000 votes of Muslim community in their area. The Congress MLAs said that if they come to BJP, they will lose those votes. This is cowardly way of looking at things.
"I also have 55,000 to 60,000 Muslim votes in my constituency. However till date, I have not asked a single Muslim fellow to vote in my favour. Still I have won by 47,000 votes. Muslims, who are patriots, will vote for BJP. Muslims, who are pro-Pakistan, will not vote for BJP. If required, let the journalists write down this statement of mine.
"When BJP government was in power earlier, cow slaughter was banned. As soon as the Congress assumed power, they abolished that law. BJP is going to ban cow slaughter completely in the coming days. The opposition leaders of Pakistan are vehemently opposing the move of Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) is also going to join with India in coming days," said Eshwarappa.
He further said, "The whole country is lauding the style of functioning of the BJP government at the center. BJP has abolished Article 370. It has also abolished Triple Talaq and thereby does pro-people works. Till Narendra Modi is alive, he will be the prime minister of India. During the tenure of Modi, Pakistan will get extinct from the world map and India will become Akhand Bharath. As Hindutva is growing in every village of Karnataka, BJP is in power in the state.
"Chief of Sri Rama Sene Pramod Mutalik was included in BJP in my presence with the intention of making him an MLA. Jagadish Shettar and Prahlad Joshi were also present when Pramod Mutalik was inducted into BJP at Hubballi. However, due to certain political developments, he had to go out of BJP. Due to some vested interests, Pramod Mutalik gave up politics. But till date, I do not know as to why Pramod Mutalik came out of politics," said Eshwarappa.
