Udupi, Sep 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gone to USA to address the NRIs living there. At the same time, a scientist, who lives in USA has come to India. This scientist, who readies young scientists in India, will advise the PM on changing the Indian education system.
There is a speculation that India will be super power in the world in 2020. However, Poornima Kamath, native of Udupi, who lives in America does not agree with the statement. Compared to USA, Indian education systems is 40 years behind. So Poornima is going to advice prime minister Narendra Modi on the content of the syllabus for the academic year 2020. Poornima, who has already started work in this direction, will not only change the syllabus but also the style of examinations.
Poornima went to USA 30 years ago. She is involved in the research of Cancer there. Her husband is also a scientist. She is visiting India every year for the past 15 years. Poornima also organizes Brain Quest Model Making Competition to identify young scientists.
This year the students have prepared models under the environment friendly concept as the global warming has increased. Poornima has also given valuable advice for the syllabus of CBSE board. Poornima Kamath says that Google and YouTube has all the information required for the education of children. “We have to find out what new inventions strike the young minds of children,” she says.
