Mangaluru: Director Chetan Mundadi to come up with film on Autism

Mangaluru, Sep 15: National and state awarded film director Chetan Mundadi is preparing to produce a film based on true incident after ‘Mudipu’ and ‘Pravesha’ films. The shooting of the film which is yet to be named is progressing briskly. The muhurat of the film was held in Sautadka Mahaganapathi temple on Sep 3.

“The bond between the mother and the child and Autism spectrum disorder is the subject of my film. It is both a commercial film and art film,” explained the director. The shooting of the film will be held for 35 days in Madantyar, Mangaluru, Madikeri, Bengaluru etc.

Anup Kumar will be the hero and ‘Jogula’ serial fame Jyothi Rai will be the heroine of the film. Autism victim child will be Dhanika Hegde, new introduction in the film industry. Chetan Rai Mani, Ila Vitla, Rangitaranga film artiste Arvind Rao, TV artiste Srikanth Heblikar, several other TV artistes and amateur drama artistes will be seen in the film. The story and production will be by Dr Saraswathi Hosadurga and Kavita Santhosh.

“It is estimated that 70 million children are affected in the world by Autism disorder. There are 10 million such children in India. We will be trying to open the disorder in stages in the film,” said director Chetan Mundadi. Script of the film is written by A P Arjun. Dialogues are by Vinu Balanja, photography by Ganesh Hegde and music will be by new found talent Harshavardhan.
