Bengaluru: Government will introduce teacher-friendly transfer policy - Education minister

Bengaluru, Sep 15: Minister for primary and secondary education, S Suresh Kumar, said that the state government will introduce a teacher-friendly transfer policy soon. 

Suresh Kumar was speaking at a Hindi language teachers’ conference and Hindi Diwas programme here on Saturday, September 15. 

The minister opined there is a huge debate about the transfer of teachers and felt that something wrong in the process.

  

“The concept of compulsory transfer is not right for the teaching fraternity,” he said. 

“We need to respect all the languages and the Hindi language should not be forgotten and opposed. We shall learn Hindi but, it must not be imposed,” he said. 

“N Mahesh, when he was the education minister, had proposed open book examination. We will decide it after discussing the issue,” he concluded.

    Most colleges recruit part time lecturers as they don't have to pay gratuity, pension et . The rates are very negotiable & sometimes very low. The govt should curb this. There should be a fixed hourly rate for part time lecturers with a minimum amount of hours scheduled for them.

    Thank you Mr. Suresh Kumar, education minister. I know few teachers who are working far from their taluka which add additional expenses to their daily living budget. many a times teachers are far away from their elderly parents, family and their own children for a long time to keep up their teaching assignment. profession. Please come up with a constructive transfer policy to benefit the teaching staff...
