Bengaluru: Illegal export of iron ore from Belekeri - MLA Nagendra acquitted

Bengaluru, Sep 14: The special court for people's representatives here, through an order passed on Friday September 13, acquitted MLA B Nagendra, and other accused from the charges of illegal export of iron ore from Belekeri port near Karwar.

Central Bureau of Investigation had investigated the allegation that over a lac metric tonnes of iron ore had been illegally exported from Belekri port. It had filed charge sheet against MLA Nagendra and13 others. The court which conducted trial, came to the conclusion that the charges were not conclusively proved against the accused with the support of evidences. Therefore the accused were exonerated.
