Udupi, Sep 14: Much awaited Konkani film ‘Nirmillem Nirmonem’ released in Bharath Cinemas, Manipal on Friday, September 13.
Fr Baptist Menezes, vicar general, Udupi diocese, inaugurated the show by lighting the lamp. Addressing the gathering he said, “We do not know what God has planned for us. God plans for us, not the society we live. From the moment of our birth, God takes care of us and he looks after us. I congratulate Henry D’Silva along with his whole team for making this film in Konkani. We need to preserve and develop our mother tongue. We may have enough money, but to produce a Konkani film or a CD, one needs real guts. Let us try to serve our mother tongue Konkani.”
Fr Denis D’sa, parish priest, Shirva church, said, “The film has already received great response after its release in Mangaluru. Producer of the movie Henry D’Silva is visiting every parish to promote his film. He considers this as a service to Konkani language. Producing a movie in Konkani is greatest service to Konkani language. As Konkani movie industry is a very small, we have to co-operate with each other and try to uplift others also.”
Henry D’Silva, producer, extended his heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported him in making the film happen. Fr Valerian Mendonca, actors of the movie Hera Pinto, Godwin Sparkle, Charles Gomes, Pritham Noronha Melwin Elphel, director, Norbert John D'Souza, associate director and others were present.
The movie received positive reviews from audience.
