Kundapur, Sep 12: Kundapur block Congress held protests in Kundapur alleging that the centre and the state governments have not released any funds for 22 districts in the state that are affected due to recent floods. "Months have passed by since the districts were inundated. Several lacs ordinary people have lost their houses. Thousands of houses and sheds are destroyed. Those who have lost houses are living in tents. Several people have died. BJP which is spending one thousand crores for Operation Kamala has not released a paisa compensation even though they govern both at the centre and the state. The prime minister who had come to the state to watch Chandrayan did not even inspect the flood-affected areas as the courtesy. Prime Minister has returned to Delhi without allotting time to discuss difficulties of flood-affected people. Even food is not being distributed in those areas. The officials are asking for Aadhar cards from the victims who ran in the clothes they were wearing for distribution of rice. Yediyurappa led government in the state is engrossed in the business of transfer as if he is not concerned about the hardships. There are no examples of such anti-people governments governing the country after independence,” alleged the protesters.
Kundapur Block Congress activists went in procession opposing the alleged anti-people dictatorship of the governments at the state and the centre and submitted a memorandum through Kundapur tahsildar urging to release compensation immediately.
