Bidar: Minister hints at increasing milk price to farmers

Bidar, Sep 12: State minister for animal husbandry, Prabhu Chauhan, hinted at increasing the price payable to farmers for milk supplied by them, by one rupee a litre. He said that the matter of increasing milk price would be discussed with the chief minister to motivate dairying and to enable farmers to become financially stronger.

He gave this information after viewing the direct telecast of a programme of national animal disease control that was unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at Mathura at the Agriicultural Research Station near Janawada in the taluk on Wednesday September 11. He said that the central government has set aside Rs 13,200 crore for these two schemes announced now. He added that he will bring twice the amount for which the state is entitled in the said budget.
