Udupi, Sep 12: The prize distribution ceremony of 'Yasho Nandalala best photography competition’ was held at Mandavi Sabha Bhavan, Kadiyali, here on September 9.
The contest was organised on the occasion of Sri Krishna Janmashtami by Daijiworld Udupi for the second consecutive year.
Dr Jerry Vincent Dias, managing director, Mandavi Real Estate Developers, Ramesh Kanchan, councilor, Bailoor ward and Kishore Gonsalves, CEO of Kishoo enterprises handed over the prizes to the winners.
Guest of honour Ramesh Kanchan congratulated all the winners. “This is an opportunity for children and their parents to shine. May Daijiworld Udupi organise many more such programmes in future,” he said.
“We look for God in our kids because we believe that God lives in them. Let God bless them in every step of their life. The culture of unity in diversity can be seen only in Udupi. People from all religions follow the messages of Lord Krishna and worship him without any religious discrimination. May Lord Sri Krishna and Lord Mukhyaprana bless their devotees and grant them good health and wealth. Conduct fancy dress on special occasions in future to encourage children's talents,” suggested Dr Jerry Vincent Dias.
Baby Aaradhya R Nayak and her mother Akshatha, residents of Shaktinagar, Mangaluru, emerged winners of the contest. They were awarded with cash prize of Rs 3,333 with certificate and trophy.
Baby Mishika Devadiga and her mother Supreetha Devadiga residents of Gundibailu, Udupi bagged second prize. They received Rs 2,222, along with certificate and trophy.
Baby Advitha Pai B.K and her mother Ranjitha Pai, residents of Herga Parkala secured third place and they were awarded Rs 1,111 along with certificate and trophy.
In the preliminary round, 300 plus entries were received from coastal districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada, other districts in the state and even from abroad.
From the shortlisted 23 entries, the esteemed judges picked the top three and five consolation prize winners.
Five photographs bagged consolation prizes. The winners were Advith Nayak and mother Mayura from Kukkundoor, Karkala, Manushi Kamath and mother Geetha Kamath from Belvai, Pragvamsha N Thantry and mother Archana N Thantry from Korangrapady, Udupi, Rishika Rajmohanand and mother Suman Pai from Handadi, Brahmavar and Hiranmayee and mother Rajashree Prasanna Kodavoor, Udupi.
Staff of Daijiworld Udupi was present on the occasion.
