Mangaluru: Teachers’ Day celebrated at Lourdes Central School

Mangaluru, Sep 11: September 5 is a really special day for teachers across India and an opportunity for all students to thanks these wonderful people who play an important role in moulding their personality.

The students of Lourdes Central School (LCS) staged an incredible indoor assembly in gratitude toward their teacher. The celebration began with invoking the blessings of God through a prayer song. Lavanya of Class XII read an adaptation about Eklavya, urging the students to reflect upon the story. The significance of the day was read out by Saina of Class XI which was followed by praying a floral tribute to Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrsihnan.

Parvathy Menon, Kate Pereira and Chris Moras presented a few sons from 90’s which made the teachers nostalgic and took them back to the time they were students. Heba Bashir Ibrahim of Class X representing the students conveyed short yet beautiful message to all the teachers and the boys of XI grade performed an acapella style nursery rhymes in the form of rap with benches and desks that made all reminisce the times they spent with their teachers.

Principal Fr Robert D’ Souza then addressed the gathering with his motivational words. Manager Fr Wilson L Vitus D’ Souza enlightened the gathering with his words of wisdom and greeted all the teachers. Yet another event in the day was the book release by Ms Christine Sequeira a former teacher of Lourdes. LCS family wishes her all success and happiness in her future endevorous. The programme was concluded with a vote of thanks by Chris Moras from Class XII. The programme was successful due to the efforts of the entire students’ community and the teacher in-charges, Anita Thomas and Roshan Cordeiro. The day ended with a bang as the students and teachers played throw ball and cricket matches making their bond stronger than ever.
