Bengaluru: Siddaramaiah chides Nalin for not having minimum knowledge

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Sep 10: Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah accused MP and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, of not even possessing minimum knowledge about the issues leading to former minister Shivakumar's arrest. He charged Nalin of passing statement about Shivakumar's arrest with evil intentions.

During his conversation with the media persons here on Monday September 9, Siddaramaiah said that Nalin does not seem to be aware about the authorities under which the income tax department and enforcement directorate function. "They are under the central government. Nalin appears to be aware only of vitiating atmosphere in the society and igniting passions to serve his own interests," he added.

Siddaramaiah expressed surprise as to why and on what basis Nalin Kumar Kateel was made the BJP state president. He told the BJP that if it gives important positions to people who lack knowledge, they are bound to create problems.

President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) Dinesh Gundu Rao, advised Nalin Kumar to understand that he is in a responsible position, and advised the latter to properly study and do homework before speaking on any subject. "If he continues to issue eccentric statements, he and his party will become a laughing stock. My advice to him is to learn to speak responsibly," he added.

Former MP and Congress leader Ugrappa, said that Nalin has been instigating the people of Dakshina Kannada by threatening to torch the district. He said that Nalin had issued immature statement about D K Shivakumar by saying that Shivakumar should have provided proper documents to enforcement directorate to prove his innocence. "He does not seem to be having knowledge about which party was ruling at the centre in 2017 and under which government enforcement directorate and income tax department function," he said.

KPCC working president Ishwar Khandre said that the statement of Nalin Kumar Kateel proves his intellectual bankruptcy. He felt that the state BJP president appears to be suffering from guilty conscience as his party has been misusing investigating agencies to tame opposition leaders.
