Udupi: City bus employees’ association felicitates drivers, conductors for 25 years of service

Udupi, Sep 6: City bus employees’ emergency service association of the city felicitated drivers Mohan Rao, Ashok Salian, Srinivas Prabhu, Harish and Dinesh and conductors Praveen Bhandary, Arun Noronha and Ravi Kumar, who have rendered their selfless-service to the society for the last 20 to 25 years. Home guard Susheela was also honoured on the occasion.

Children of drivers and conductors, who had scored highest marks in SSLC for the year 2018-19, Meghana N, Kavyashree, Keerthana A Salian, Pratheeksha, Shaketh Shetty, H S Rakesh were also felicitated during the event.

Vishu Shetty Ambalpady, social worker, Suresh Nayak Kuilady, president, owners’ association, Sudhaker Kalmady, former President, Sandeep, secretary, Chandan, treasurer, bus owners’ association, Jaya Bhandary, Mahabala Suvarna, Madhusudhan, Nagaraj, Vishwanath Rai, president, CCTU employees’ association, Balakrishna Shetty, chief secretary, Santhosh Poojary, president, Udupi city bus employees’ emergency service association, Vasu Ganiga, vice president, Robert Pais, chief secretary, Avinash, treasurer, Chandra Poojary, former president and other members were present on the occasion.

City bus conductor Sudharshan, who had suffered cardiac attack and had undergone treatment at Kasturba Hospital Manipal was handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 at the Rajivnagar office. This amount was collected from the members of the association. Santhosh Poojary, president, Udupi city bus employees’ emergency service association, Robert Pais, chief secretary and Avinash, treasurer were present on the occasion.
