Kundapur, Sep 5: 29-year-old, IPS officer of 2017 batch Hariram Shankar has taken charge as the new Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Kundapur sub-division on Thursday, Sep 5. Outgoing DySP B P Dinesh Kumar handed over the charge to Hariram Shankar in the office of the DySP in the town.
Hariram Shankar, who is a native of Thrissur in the state of Kerala had joined service as a probationary ASP in Athani of Belgaum district. He completed two months of second phase training in Hyderabad and has assumed charge as ASP of Kundapur. He is a Mechanical engineering graduate from NIT of Calicut and took the Civil Services examination later. The locals believe that he will be able to resolve the issues of the coastal people.
Speaking after taking charge, ASP Hariram Shankar said, "I will make a study of the area that comes under my limits. The officers of this region have done good work. That is why there is peace here. Priority will be given to put an end to criminal activities and strengthen law and order. Re-investigation will be done of murder and theft those are still not resolved. Attention will also be paid to the traffic issues and attempt will be made to resolve the same."
Kundapur CPI Manjappa, Byndoor CPI Parameshwar Gunaga, police sub-inspectors of various police stations and personnel were present on the occasion.
