Bengaluru: Helper of youth turns villain - Police nab robber

Bengaluru, Sep 5: A person who robbed a motor bike rider after acting like coming to his rescue, stands arrested by the police personnel of Tilaknagar station here. The arrested man happens to be Siraj from Yeshwantpur here.

Balaji, a software engineer, was riding his motor bike last month when he had met with an accident at a circle in Jayanagar fourth block. Siraj had opted to help the techie. He had taken the injured Balaji to a hospital in his motor bike and admitted him there. Later, he had fled after robbing the software engineer of his purse and motor bike.

Balaji had filed complaint in Tilaknagar police station about this incident. The police, in an operation, succeeded in arresting the accused on Wednesday.

Balaji had filed complaint in the police station on August 9. The police checked CCTV footage at the hospital and zeroed in on the culprit. Based on CCTV footage, the accused was arrested by the police, said Isha Pant, deputy commissioner of police, south east division.
