Bengaluru, Sep 4: The soft-cornered statement given by chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa over the arrest of former minister and Congress leader D K Shivakumar had not gone well with the BJP high command.
Yediyurappa had said that he was not happy over the arrest of D K Shivakumar by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). A report regarding this statement was sent to the BJP high command by B L Santhosh, national organizing secretary of the party. It is said that this has fumed the national president of BJP, Amit Shah.

With regards to the arrest of D K Shivakumar, which has created nation-wide sensation, CM Yediyurappa had said, "I am not happy with the arrest of D K Shivakumar. If he comes out unscathed, I will be happy." This has caused an embarrassment for the BJP. It is learnt that the BJP high command is enraged on this issue.
Congress is holding nation-wide protest against the arrest of Shivakumar burning the effigy of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi. But CM Yediyurappa has kept mum after giving a soft-cornered statement towards D K Shivakumar.
Reacting to the news of the arrest of Congress leader D K Shivakumar, CM Yediyurappa had said, "I am not happy about the arrest of the former minister. Let him come out of all this soon. If D K Shivakumar comes out unscathed, I will feel much happier than anyone else. Certain decisions are taken under the framework of law. That is why he has been arrested. I have neither hated anyone in my life nor intended to cause harm. I pray to God for D K Shivakumar to come out of his arrest by ED."
