Shivamogga, Sep 2: In a bizarre incident reported from Analekoppa of Sagar in the district, a youth, who was distraught as his proposal of love was negated by his lover, stabbed her on the pretext of tying Rakhi to her.
Rakesh, a resident of Kenchanala village of Hosanagar taluk is the person who stabbed his lover. He was in relationship with a girl, who was residing in a house that was close that of Rakesh's relatives, with whom Rakesh used to reside.
Rakesh was head over heels in love with the girl. However, the girl was continuously spurning his love and was avoiding him. Rakesh, who got devastated by the continuous denial of his love by the girl, offered her to be her brother and called her to tie Rakhi to him as a mark of accepting him as her brother.
The girl, not knowing the ulterior motive of Rakesh, agreed to accept him as her brother. Rakesh came near the girl's house and was standing outside in order to get the Rakhi tied by the girl. However, when the girl was tying Rakhi to him, he stabbed her on her cheek and escaped from the spot.
The girl, who is injured, has been admitted in the government hospital of Sagar. A case in this regard stands registered at Sagar town police station.
