Bangalore, Jul 1: Energy Minister K S Eshwarappa on Tuesday June 30 has expressed that there is an imminent need to bring in official load-shedding in the days to come.
Speaking at a high-level meeting held in Vidhana Soudha, the minister said that with the lack of rainfall the power generation in the state has been alarmingly low and if the situation continues then the state will be left with no alternative, but resort to official load-shedding, he said.
At present, there is an increased power supply at places where there is low rainfall. There is a demand for 98.6 million units of power supply in state with power generation standing at 105 million units at present. But lack of water in the reservoirs is a cause for concern, he said.
